We are the bridge to your future! We are the adult education division of the Keene School District.

As such we are proud to offer the greater adult community a variety of academic, vocational and enrichment classes, apprenticeships, and virtual classes. As a self-supporting entity and to further support our district, we offer Project KEEP, an afterschool program for Keene elementary-aged children, Driver Education, and summer Art Camp. We are excited to offer a new English class especially for Advanced Beginner or Intermediate level students interested in improving their skills to get a job.

This course will focus on developing English language skills, specific to college and career readiness and civic education and engagement. At the end of the course, students will be better prepared to enter the workforce and gain the language skills needed to be successful in a work setting or college or job training program. Topics covered will include cultural competency, résumé writing and job searching, self advocacy and resource navigation, professional writing, and computer literacy.

Emily Griffin has a master's degree in English teaching and 10 years ESOL teaching experience in the United States and abroad. Emily worked for five years as the Lead Advanced ESOL teacher at the Boston Chinatown neighborhood center where she instructed college and career readiness classes for students entering the workforce. Emily currently works with English Language Learners in the workforce development department at the Community College System of New Hampshire, facilitating connection to resources, employment and education opportunities

Nos complace ofrecer una nueva clase de inglés dirigida especialmente a estudiantes de nivel principiante avanzado o intermedio que deseen mejorar sus habilidades para conseguir empleo.

Este curso se centrará en desarrollar competencias lingüísticas en inglés orientadas a la preparación para estudios superiores y la carrera profesional, así como a la educación y participación cívica. Al finalizar el curso, los estudiantes estarán mejor preparados para incorporarse al mercado laboral y habrán adquirido las habilidades lingüísticas necesarias para tener éxito en el entorno de trabajo, en la universidad o en programas de capacitación laboral. Los temas que se abordarán incluyen competencia cultural, redacción de currículums y búsqueda de empleo, defensa de los propios intereses y acceso a recursos, redacción profesional y alfabetización digital.

Emily Griffin cuenta con una maestría en enseñanza de inglés y 10 años de experiencia impartiendo clases de ESOL (inglés para hablantes de otros idiomas) tanto en Estados Unidos como en el extranjero. Trabajó durante cinco años como profesora principal de ESOL de nivel avanzado en el centro comunitario de Chinatown en Boston, donde impartió clases de preparación universitaria y profesional para estudiantes que se incorporaban al mercado laboral. Actualmente, Emily trabaja con estudiantes de inglés en el departamento de desarrollo de la fuerza laboral del Sistema de Colegios Comunitarios de New Hampshire (Community College System of New Hampshire), facilitando el acceso a recursos, así como a oportunidades de empleo y educación.

If you heard screaming and yelling coming from the Jonathan Daniels Building this afternoon, that was just us celebrating Laynee, who completed her HiSET exam. Next stop: Nursing School. Laynee is such a hard worker, we know she's going to do great!
