Beth Ann Candello, 69, a longtime resident of Keene and Swanzey, passed away on Jan. 17, 2026, at the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene.

Her parents, Norma (Houston) and Harry O. Paige Jr., welcomed their daughter into the world on Oct. 16, 1956, in Keene. Beth attended local schools, including St. Joseph Regional School and Keene High School, and was a 1974 graduate of Keene High School.

Having a huge heart and deep love and concern for others including animals, Beth was a volunteer with the March of Dimes and at the Monadnock Humane Society. Over the years Beth rescued and cared for several horses, mules and donkeys at her property in Swanzey.

She worked for years helping her husband, Mark, with his business, MRC Controls. The industrial automation company specialized in automating snowmaking, city water systems and other pump systems. She most recently worked as a wiring technician with Turmoil, a company that manufactures electrical panels and is located in West Swanzey. She also worked as a licensed nursing assistant at the former McKerley Nursing Home, now Genesis Keene Center.

She loved dabbling in genealogy and started a company called Relative Ease. She enjoyed riding dirt bikes and snowmobiling. She was loved by many and was known for being funny and smart.

Her husband of 41 years, Mark R. Candello, predeceased her on July 5, 2021. A sister Kathy Candello predeceased her on Dec. 25, 2021.

She will be missed by many, especially her children, Nicholas A. Candello of Swanzey, Andi Candello of Provincetown, Mass., and Antony R. Candello of Swanzey; her sisters, Debra, Patti, Sharon, Barbara and Norma, all of Keene; her brother, Harry Paige, of Keene; her best friends, Amy Fletcher, Rondi Mahoney and Kathy Hamilton; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Services will be held privately by her family.

For those who wish, donations may be made in Mrs. Candello’s memory to Save Your Ass Long Ear Rescue (saveyourassrescue.com), 33 Bush St., Marlborough NH 03455.

The Foley Funeral Home of Keene is entrusted with Mrs. Candello’s care. To offer online condolences to the family or to share special memories, please visit www.foleyfuneralhome.com.

Reminders because we’re not as young as we used to be:
I was thinking about old age and decided that old age is when you still have something on the ball, but you are just too tired to bounce it.
When people see a cat's litter box they always say, "Oh, have you got a cat" I just say, "No, it's for company!"
Employment application blanks always ask who is to be called in case of an emergency. I think you should write, "An ambulance."
The older you get the tougher it is to lose weight because by then your body and your fat have gotten to be really good friends.
Have you ever noticed: The Roman Numerals for forty (40) are XL.
The sole purpose of a child's middle name is so he knows when he's really in trouble.
The easiest way to find something lost around the house is to buy a replacement.
Did you ever notice that when you put the 2 words "The" and "IRS" together it spells "Theirs"
Aging: Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.
Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me.
I want people to know why I look this way.
I've traveled a long way and a lot of the roads were not paved.
Ah! Being young is beautiful but being old is comfortable.
Lord, keep your arm around my shoulder and your hand over my mouth.
May you always have: Love to share, Cash to spare, Tires with air, And friends who care.

"Aging is not for the weak. One day you wake up and realize that your youth is gone, but along with it, so go insecurity, haste, and the need to please... You learn to walk more slowly, but with greater certainty. You say goodbye without fear, and you cherish those who stay. Aging means letting go, it means accepting, it means discovering that beauty was never in our skin... but in the story we carry inside us."
