We would like to warmly invite you to join Community Garden Connections's Annual CGC Summer Celebration on Tuesday, September 1, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at the Westmoreland Garden Project, 193 River Road, Westmoreland, NH!

This celebration is an opportunity to thank CGC's community partners, volunteers, and supporters while showcasing the impact of the Westmoreland Garden Project and the collaborative work taking place to strengthen local food security across Cheshire County. CGC would be honored to have you visit the garden, see the progress that has been made over the past season, and learn more about how this partnership is helping provide fresh, locally grown produce to community members in need.

The evening will include:
Tours of the Westmoreland Garden Project and updates on this year's accomplishments
Free food from Yahso's Food truck and Blueberry Haus Cream Truck
Music from Mr. Bill Bluegrass Band
Opportunities to connect with volunteers and community partners
A visit from the Community Kitchen's new Mobile Food Pantry, highlighting another important effort to improve access to healthy food throughout the region

The Community Kitchen's Mobile Food Pantry will also be accepting donations of fresh garden vegetables and non-perishable canned goods during the event. If you are able, CGC encourages you to bring a donation to help stock the pantry and support local families experiencing food insecurity.

Your support of initiatives that strengthen our local food system and build resilient communities is greatly appreciated, and we hope you will be able to celebrate with us.

If weather requires, the event will be held indoors at The Red Barn.

See you on September 1!

AUNE began collecting compost in partnership with Black Earth Compost in February: since then, the campus has composted 1,980 pounds of food waste! That is nearly 1 ton of food waste which has been diverted from landfills. Thank you to everyone who is contributing to this campus sustainability effort. Keep up the good work!

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. It marks the day when all enslaved individuals became aware of their freedom. Although the Emancipation Proclamation was signed on January 1, 1863, it took two and a half years for enslaved people in Texas to learn of their freedom.
