KHGI Nebraska TV is the ABC affiliate station for Central and South-western Nebraska, providing news, weather, sports and local event coverage to residents throughout the area including: Kearney, Grand Island, Hastings, North Platte, Lexington, Holdrege, McCook, York, Alda, Aurora and Broken Bow.

Well Karen L Decker and I have been retired a little over a year from daycare. Sold the daycare to a friend who runs a Montessori preschool program thru it! We're excited for her! Just remembering a few staff that were there for us over the years(there are many more!) Peggy Brown, Jayden Henry, Dee Majors, Larry Tunks, Carolyn Anderson, Stacey Kleinschmidt, Brian Holloway, Sayanti Pieper, Melanie Holloway. Sorry if I didn't mention your name here. Over a period of 36 there were many wonderful people who worked for us! Thanks to all for your love and care!

911 for Kids –
The Buffalo County Dispatchers are proud to be out in our community connecting with some of our youngest residents! This week, our team is visiting 1st and 2nd grade classrooms to teach students all about how 911 works.

During these visits, dispatchers will:
Explain what happens when you call 911
Teach kids what information dispatchers need (like location and what’s happening)
Help them understand when it’s appropriate to call 911
Empower them to stay calm and confident in an emergency

Our goal is to make sure every child feels prepared and knows that dispatchers are here to help—anytime, day or night. By building these skills early, we’re helping create safer families and a stronger community.

We love being part of these important conversations and appreciate the opportunity to make a difference—one classroom at a time.
