Great opportunities await international students who choose to study at UNK. Located in Kearney, Nebraska, a beautiful city known for its friendly people, UNK embraces diversity and accepts people of all cultures because celebrating the differences in people leads to a more rewarding experience. UNK draws students from 50 states and 49 countries. It is a mid-sized university with an enrollment of approximately 6,700 students, and is especially noted for small classes and scholarly faculty devoted to quality teaching and research.

UNK International provides services and resources for international students from the moment they apply until they complete their program of study. Dedicated to the well-being and success of each student, we offer all the programming and support possible to help students transition to the U.S., be academically prepared, understand immigration regulations, and adjust to campus life. This is done through advising and immigration related services, admission and arrival preparation, new student orientation, and the Global Loper Peer Mentor Program.

UNK International facilitates opportunities for cultural sharing through interaction with Kearney area community members. Some cultural sharing programs include the International Friendship (host family) Program, the School Outreach Program, and country-specific international student organization cultural festivals held throughout the year.
