Kearney FCCLA is proud to celebrate another Top 10 National Finalist!

Ava Mayse represented Kearney FCCLA at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C., where she competed in Interior Design Level 3 and earned at outstanding 9th place finish in the nation!

Ava's project is comparable to a college-level capstone experience, requiring advanced interior design knowledge, CAD programming skills, and meticulous attention to detail. She also presented and defended her project during a 10-minute presentation before a panel of judges.

Congratulations to Ave on this incredible accomplishment and for representing Kearney High School and Kearney FCCLA with excellence!

A special thank you to FCCLA advisors Kathryn Cash and Kassidy Robertson for supporting our students and providing opportunities for them to shine on the national stage!

Congratulations to KHS students Logan Daugherty and Ezra Stuart! ❤️🤍💙

Logan and Ezra recently returned from the Missouri Youth Tour, a leadership experience sponsored by Platte-Clay Electric Cooperative and coordinated by the Association of Missouri Electrical Cooperatives.

From June 14-20, they joined 110 outstanding high school students from across Missouri for an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C. Throughout the week, they explored our nation's capital, learned about government and civic leadership, and experienced history firsthand.

Highlights of the trip included visiting members of Congress, touring the Smithsonian museums, Arlington National Cemetery, the International Spy Museum, and many of our nation's monuments. They also enjoyed a sightseeing and dance cruise on the Potomac River with students from several other states.

We are proud of Logan and Ezra for representing KHS and taking advantage of this amazing opportunity to grow as leaders and engaged citizens. Congratulations on an unforgettable experience!

Future Bulldogs: Keep an eye out for your opportunity to apply for the Missouri Youth Tour! This leadership experience takes place the summer before your senior year and is an incredible opportunity to learn, grow, and represent Kearney High School at our nation's capital. Amara Miles has been named the grand prize winner of a t-shirt design contest hosted by Go North KC and Park University as part of the Northland's preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2026!

Her winning design will be featured on t-shirts sold at seven World Cup watch parties across the Northland, including the June 19th Kearney Watch Party at Jesse James Park. How exciting to see her work showcased across our entire region!

As the grand prize winner, Amara will receive a renewable scholarship from Park University valued at $12,500.

We're also proud to celebrate two more talented KHS artists:
-Scout Pimblott
-Janie Mendel

Both were named among the top 12 student artists in the competition and will also receive renewable $1,000 scholarships from Park University.

All of Mrs. Carmack's Graphic Design II students participated in the contest. Great job to all of the Bulldogs involved!

We are incredibly proud of Amara, Scout, and Janie for representing Kearney High School with such talent and creativity. Our Bulldogs are helping our region get ready to welcome the world! 💜💛

Support Kearney FFA! 💜💛

There are a couple great opportunities this week to support our FFA students and their hard work:

🌿 Greenhouse Sale – Final Day May 9th!
The last day of the greenhouse sale is this Saturday, so be sure to stop by before it’s gone! While you’re there, check out our SAE Student Showcase, where students will have booths set up selling products they’ve created through their projects.

🍦 Culver’s Scoops of Thanks Day – Thursday, May 7th
Stop by Culver’s and make a $1 donation to Kearney FFA to receive a free scoop of ice cream! It’s an easy (and delicious) way to support our students.

Thank you for supporting Kearney FFA and all the amazing work our students are doing!
