IPMA has continued to evolve alongside the professionals it serves.

As members’ responsibilities expanded beyond traditional printing, the association grew to represent publishing, graphic design, mailing, fulfillment and distribution. Today, IPMA connects professionals from colleges and universities, healthcare organizations, government agencies, manufacturers, utilities and many other industry segments.

The name has changed throughout the years, but the mission remains the same: helping in-plant professionals learn, connect and advance together.

Did you know IPMA began with just nine people?

On March 12, 1964, nine individuals met in New York City to discuss creating a professional association dedicated to in-plant management. By October, IPMA was officially established as a forum for education, professional advancement and the exchange of ideas.

More than 60 years later, that original vision continues through a community of nearly 700 members.
