We are excited to share some encouraging findings from our research! 🧠🌎
Our results suggest that learning a new language may help support cognitive health in older adults. Participants who stayed engaged and consistently completed the language-learning activities tended to show greater improvements, especially those who had more room for improvement when they started.
This is exciting because learning another language is accessible, relatively inexpensive, and something that can be done from home. It may offer a fun and meaningful way to keep the brain active as we age.
These are early findings, and more research is needed, but they add to growing evidence that our brains can continue to learn and change throughout life.
❤️ Most importantly, we want to sincerely thank all of the wonderful older adults who volunteered their time to participate in this research. Studies like this simply would not be possible without you. Your time, effort, and commitment are helping us better understand how we can support cognitive health and healthy aging.
Thank you for helping us advance the science of healthy aging!
