Our members stayed busy this summer! Whether it was with professional development and networking at NAYI, working with their SAE projects, or helping and showing at the Buffalo County Fair, we are proud of all their learning, leadership, and accomplishments. We can't wait to see everyone on Thursday and start the 2026-27 FFA year! πŸ’™πŸ’›

Our 2026-27 Officer Team ended the school year and started the summer at Chapter Officer Leadership Training (C**T) in Aurora last week. This was a great opportunity for them to grow as a team, as well as individuals in their respective office. Plenty of fun was factored in too with paddling on the pond, a flashlight relay race, a dance, and more! We met lots of new friends from other chapters as well! Additionally, watching Hudson in his role as a State Officer was icing on the cake (he did a great job!).

Be ready Kearney FFA, your Officer Team has some great ideas for everyone this next year! 😁

In the last week Kearney FFA has celebrated a great year with our community!

We had a fun evening last Friday at our F.F.A. Night (Family. Friends. Alumni.) where we had the new officer team lead a short business meeting followed by a grill out and sand volleyball. Thank you to our parents that made the tasty burgers and brats and for everyone that joined in on the fun!

On Monday of this week, Hudson Dellevoet and Miss Swotek presented to the Kearney Public Schools Board of Education. Miss Swotek gave a brief introduction and then Hudson took it away with recapping our achievements of this year and sharing about his leadership role as an FFA State Officer. This was a great opportunity to share what Kearney FFA is all about with those that support us!

We've got one more fun post coming next week before it's officially summer.... stay tuned! 😁

Yesterday was our annual Spring Industry Tour Day for our chapter. We had a great time exploring different businesses and careers in agriculture from our area!

We first visited Orthman Manufacturing in Lexington. One of our seniors has mentioned this would be a perfect stop for a tour as her mom works there, and she was right! We got a run down of the Unverferth brands and got to see the production side of several Orthman products. We also witnessed the details that go into designing parts as an engineer- adding to the vast array of careers possible in Ag Manufacturing. As a parting gift, Orthman 3-D printed mini FFA emblems for each of our members and gifted a larger one to our chapter. Thank you to the team at Orthman Manufacturing for giving us a behind-the-scenes tour of a business many of us pass on the interstate!

Our second stop was at KAAPA Ethanol in Ravenna to tour their plant. KAAPA Ethanol was one of our Honorary Chapter Degree recipients this year and this was a great opportunity for our members to explore what goes into ethanol production. While styling some PPE, we got to see not only ethanol production, but also distillers grains, carbon sequestration, trucking, storage, and more. The logistics that go into making the Ravenna plant run smoothly were very impressive! Thank you KAAPA Ethanol for taking the time to show our members how the ethanol many of us use in our fuel is produced (as well as distillers and corn oil)!

While it was a quick and condensed schedule, lots of learning happened for our members! Any chance to get out into the industry, make connections, and witness new experiences is a great day! Thank you again to the businesses and our bus driver who made our Spring Industry Tour Day possible!

We had a great group of members and even a parent (always welcome!) join us for our biennial highway clean up on the 18th. Thanks to this group, our section of Highway 10 is looking s***k and span! We're more than happy to give back to our community that supports us greatly!

What a memorable night Tuesday evening was! We were joined by several of our Family, Friends, and Alumni to celebrate the accomplishments of our members from this year.

Lots of exciting components of the evening included not only our program, but a silent auction, live cake/meat auction, and socializing. We can't say "thank you" enough to all the businesses/individuals who graciously donated items to these auctions to support our chapter. We also greatly appreciate everyone who bid on these items as well. There was something for everyone this year!

Our 200+ guests enjoyed a delicious catered meal from Mom & Dad's BBQ and we're so grateful for their amazing food and excellent service! The desserts were the "icing on the cake" of a great dinner thanks to our FFA moms bringing homemade treats. Thank you to our FFA parents and even some of our members who stepped up to plate all these delicious desserts!

Additionally, the Kearney FFA Alumni & Supporters Chapter held an Official Dress clothing drive and did an exceptional job helping serve the meal and step in with clean up at the end of the Banquet. They also made keepsake gifts for our retiring seniors. Addie Fuller serves as the Outreach Chair and spoke during the program to encourage those that are interested to become involved. If you would like more information on this group, feel free to visit their page!
