them develop their musicality & prepare them for more formal music lessons. I am planning on teaching preschool classes, kindergarten classes and one 1st/2nd grade class (after school) with class sizes around 7 children. What can you expect from your classes next year?

*A musical performance at the end of the year by our children! This will highlight the fun things we have learned!
*Puppets that teach musical elements - a way they will be sure to remember & enjoy!
*Musical Stories - that help children develop their listening & help them learn musical form - this is one of their favorite parts of music class.
*Creativity and Imagination expressed through dramatic play and music playing
*Playing many types of instruments: drums, tambourines, triangle, cymbals, rhythm sticks, shakers, resonator bells.
*Singing lots of fun songs to help the kids develop their singing voices & promote singing in the home! I hope to have CDs available for listening & learning at home.
*Creating our own musical stories about Butterflies, Talking Toucans (yes, I know they don't talk), the Weather, etc. My older classes, the Kindergarten & 1st/2nd Grade classes will be introduced to the piano. I will teach parents how to work with their children at home in a playful way that coincides with songs from class. I will make this available only to parents wanting this option for their kids. Some piano activities to expect are:

* Playing the piano along with our songs, using chords & some melody.
* Finger exercises, that develop finger strength, coordination and dexterity.
* 5 finger scales, I will teach correct technique in class and give assignments to do with your children at home. Children can work at their own pace. I am really excited to teach next year. I have learned so much in these past weeks and look forward to creating the musical experiences I would like for my own children & yours! .
