USU Botanical Center We are located in Kaysville Utah and are dedicated to recreation, education and innovation. Come visit! Grounds are open from dawn to dusk, 7 days a week.

The Utah State University Botanical Center brings together recreation, education and innovation to promote and demonstrate wise use of natural resources. Guests enjoy workshops and classes, visiting the gardens, fishing the ponds, and walking the trails. The Utah House is open for general visitation Monday through Friday, 1 - 5 p.m. Please call to schedule group tours. Facebook Comment Policy

Something spooky is coming to the BOOtanical Center in Kaysville...🎃👻

Join us at the USU Botanical Center, October 26-30, for a week of Halloween fun, including story time, a spooky scavenger hunt, Halloween-themed hopscotch, a fall foliage tour, hands-on workshops, and more.

Congratulations to our 2026 Scarecrow Walk winners! 🥳

We’re excited to announce this year’s winners:

🏆 1st Place: Kathy R - Eye Scream-ery
🥈 2nd Place: Shauna O & Grandkids - Muffin
🥉 3rd Place: Valley Nursery - Gnomes
⭐ Judges’ Choice: Windridge Elementary Library - Carrots

And a huge thank you to everyone who participated! Every display brought something different to the walk, and we loved seeing visitors stop, take photos, vote for their favorites, and enjoy all of the creativity you brought to the event.

We heard a rumor that across the nation are going green this week in celebration of National 4-H Week, so we figured we'd jump on the trend. 🍀

Lucky for us, going green is easy! Enjoy it while it lasts. Soon our leaves will be trading in their green for the brilliant colors of fall.

The perfect fall day is waiting for you. 🍂

Scarecrow Walk ends Sunday, October 4th. If you haven't visited yet, this weekend is your last chance! Wander the path anytime from dawn to dusk at 80 E. 725 S. in Kaysville. It's completely FREE.

While you're here, don't forget to vote for your favorite by scanning the QR code on the tag!

We have loved seeing so many families and groups enjoying themselves on our grounds. Thank you for making this such a fun season at the center.

Fall is prime time for tackling perennial weeds, especially in turf 🍂

If dandelions and field bindweed have plagued your lawn all summer, fall is your best opportunity to get ahead of them. As these perennial weeds pull energy down into their roots to prepare for winter, they'll also pull down any herbicide applied now, giving you a much more effective kill than a spring or summer treatment.

A few tips before you spray:

🌱 Target weeds that are still actively growing, not ones already going dormant
🌱 Look for products labeled for perennial broadleaf weeds
🌱 Skip the treatment on windy days or when temps are above 85°F
🌱 Always read and follow the label
