We're currently registering families for our FREE early childhood programs!



🏡 Home Visiting Program
Now enrolling pregnant families and families with children ages 0–3 throughout Davis County. Receive personalized weekly visits, fun learning activities, parenting support, and resources.

🎒 Center-Based Preschool
Openings are available for children ages 3–5 in the Sunset, Layton, and Bountiful areas for families who qualify.



At Davis Head Start, we partner with families to build school readiness, strengthen parent-child relationships, and support healthy growth and development.

Sixty-one years ago, Head Start started as an 8-week summer program. Eight weeks. The idea was modest by design, a way to see if reaching kids early could make a difference.

It made a difference.

What grew from those first summers is now one of the longest-running early childhood programs in American history, serving families in cities, rural towns, tribal communities, and migrant farmworker camps alike. Forty million children and counting.

Today we mark 61 years — not just with pride, but with real gratitude for the teachers, family advocates, nurses, and parents who do this work every single day.
