Making physical activity enjoyable and a part of your daily routine doesn’t have to be hard. Use this guide to build your own workout from scratch or as inspiration to refresh your current routine.

Start by choosing 3-4 exercises from each category, perform each one anywhere from 30 seconds up to 3 minutes, and repeat the entire circuit 2-4 times. As you adjust to your workout, you can make it more challenging by adding more exercises, increasing the length you perform each one, or even repeating the circuit 4-5 times.

How will you bring joy to your movement?

Japanese Walking, or Interval Walking Training (IWT), is a simple, effective routine consisting of 3 minutes of brisk walking followed by 3 minutes of slow walking, repeated for about 30 minutes, multiple times a week. This method enhances cardiovascular health, builds strength, aids in weight management, improves blood sugar control, and boosts mental well-being. It’s accessible for all ages and fitness levels, requires no special equipment, and offers a sustainable, low-impact alternative to your personal daily step goal.

Exercise can enhance sleep quality by increasing deep sleep and reducing stress, although the mechanisms are not fully understood. Timing is important; exercising too close to bedtime may interfere with sleep due to heightened brain activity and body temperature. It’s generally advised to exercise at least 1–2 hours before bed, though some people may not be affected. Morning aerobic workouts are particularly beneficial for deep sleep, and even short walks during the day can help nighttime rest. Intense exercise should be avoided within three hours of bedtime, while calming activities like yoga or meditation are better for the evening.

In addition to improving sleep, regular physical activity has numerous health benefits. It strengthens the heart and lungs, builds muscle, and supports bone and joint health. Engaging in about 30 minutes of moderate exercise most days helps manage weight and reduces the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease and diabetes. About 150 minutes of weekly exercise is associated with a longer lifespan, and even small amounts of activity can significantly impact overall health.

Have you been wondering where to buy local, in-season produce and other goods? Then this post is for you! Pick a farmers market from this list, or the link below, to visit this week!

Eating seasonally allows consumers to enjoy produce at peak freshness, reaping the most benefits from all the food's nutrients and enjoying better flavor. Locally sourced produce is also sold much faster after being harvested, within about 24 hours, which reduces the risk of exposure to bacteria. Buying and eating local produce reduces the demand on our environment, meaning less reliance on transportation, land use, greenhouse gases, and other factors.

07/29/2026

Unit pricing helps consumers compare product prices to find the best value. To calculate the unit price, divide the total cost of the item by its size.

From this example, let’s compare the two options by calculating unit price:

- $1.69 / 29 ounces = $0.0583/ounce
- $.99 / 15 ounces = $0.066/ounce

Now, we can determine which option meets our needs through cost or by size. While the larger size in this example costs less by ounce, it may be more product than you need. Buying the larger size because it is cheaper, but not using it all costs you more money. Sometimes it makes more sense to buy the smaller container. Be sure to consider the same product in other forms, such as frozen, fresh, or dried. Take advantage of any coupons or sales if it is a product you use often.
