Congratulations to Karen Ritzke, 2nd Grade Teacher at Quinney Elementary, on being named KASD’s Elementary Certified Staff Member of the Year!
Karen is a natural leader, an excellent teacher and a supportive colleague who helps move her school and the District forward through both formal and informal leadership. Even as a veteran educator, she continues to grow, innovate and keep student success at the center of her work.
Her impact is felt not only by her colleagues, but also by the students and families who know the care she brings to her classroom each day. In her classroom, students feel safe, seen and loved. They are encouraged to trust themselves, take on new challenges and know that they always have someone in their corner.
As shared during Closing Ceremonies, Karen is the kind of teacher every parent hopes for and the kind of colleague every educator aspires to be. Her energy, passion and care make a lasting impact on her students, families and school community.
