One of my favorite moments is when a customer sits down after a tuning and plays the first few notes.

The smile usually tells me everything I need to know.

The average piano contains enough wire to stretch well over a mile.

And every one of those strings depends on proper tension to sound its best.

That's why tuning is both an art and a science.

That's a lot of opportunities for things to go out of tune. 😄

One of the things I enjoy most about this job is that no two pianos are exactly alike. Every instrument has its own personality, history, and challenges.

Fixing a broken jack on this old upright. After 100+ years the old glues can sometimes dissolve and they need a touch up. This often causes keys to feel sluggish or even not play at all
