We are a chartered member of the Okinawan Shorinryu Matsumura Seito Karate and Kobudo Association in Okinawa.

As in life, all good things must come to an end.

It is with great sadness and profound humility that I announce that the Kaufman Academy of Martial Arts will be closing effect August 31, 2026. This is due to recent student attrition and attendance. I am not blaming anyone or anything...it's just the way it is sometimes.

To my students, I am so very proud of each and every one of you. I hope you find everything you want in life and remember that I'm only a phone call away.

Thank you to Shihan Shipes for his counsel and guidance. And a huge thank you to Dragonfly Karate & Kobudo...if it weren't for Sensei Cris Burns and Sensei Hank Kiser I would have had to quit sooner. Arigato Gozaimasu!

I will be training with Shihan Shipes in Athens...always a lot to learn, especially after 46 years!

Beginning 8/17 the advanced class will begin at 6:45 PM and will end at 8:30 PM. Class days will be unchanged. Blackbelts will attend the advances classes only.

Just a reminder there is blackbelt training at Shihan's dojo in Athens this Saturday from 9 AM until 4 PM. Fee is $30. Open to green belt and above.
