Last Saturday, GWR had an incredible opportunity to present the game ball at a Houston Dynamo match! Following the ceremony, we hosted robot demonstrations and interactive workshops for kids, giving them a hands-on look at the future of STEM. From driving robots to building straw rockets, it was amazing to see their excitement and curiosity come to life.
We’re incredibly grateful to the Houston Dynamo for allowing us to represent FIRST and share our passion with such a large and diverse audience.
We’d also like to thank our sponsors for making opportunities like this possible and helping us expand our impact within the community.
Hold it down!

A little over a week ago, GWR had an amazing opportunity to visit Chevron’s robotics facility here in Houston! We got to explore a variety of robots used by Chevron, including specialized robots that clean tanks and drones used for inspections, along with advanced manufacturing equipment. It was incredibly inspiring to see robotics applied in real-world work environments, and the visit served as a meaningful stepping stone toward future careers in robotics for our team.
We’re incredibly grateful to Chevrons Robotics Department for hosting us and giving us a glimpse into the future of STEM.

14 more days until kickoff! Over the past two months, GWR has been preparing extensively for competition season. Our CAD, programming, and mechanical trainings are now complete, and the team has been working hard across all areas.
Alongside trainings, we have hosted several workshops, including a small robotics lesson with Shafer Elementary’s special needs program and an RSC visit for FLL Team 61788, World’s Ratchets.
A huge thank you to our mentors and especially our sponsors for supporting us as we spread the future of STEM and the core values of FIRST.
