Attention MPJH Eagles: From September 8 to September 11 we will be collecting non-perishable items to stock the fire house pantry! Please send donations of protein bars, beef jerky, granola bars, cereal bars, fruit leather, trail mix, fruit cups, electrolyte drink mixes, as well as individual bags of popcorn, crackers, or cookies with your student to drop off at collection areas in the cafeteria in the morning. Student Council and NJHS students will be assisting in the collection and sorting of these items.

Together, we can make this anniversary one of unity, purpose, and action. We hope you'll join us.

We're honored to share that Memorial Parkway Junior High has been selected as a 9/11 Day grant recipient!
This fall, we'll be joining the movement to permanently transform the anniversary of 9/11 into America's Day of Doing Good — leading a community service project in honor of the 25th Anniversary.

Our project is “Courage Across the Street: Honoring Our Local Heroes” with a focus on honoring the first responders in our community. Students will get to experience a 9/11 Exhibit in the Library the week of September 8-11 with their Social Studies classes. The following week, September 14-17 during Eagle Enrichment students will create various items (cards, banners, bracelets) to show our fire fighters and EMTs at Station 48 our appreciation! We will also be collecting snacks to stock the firehouse shelves, so watch for their requests and when to bring those items! AmeriCorps

I love this idea! I know we have some pretty funny and creative kids!

Teens and tweens in grades 4-12, join us on Thursday, July 7, at 4:30 PM as we learn how to transform spontaneous ideas from improv games into structured story concepts!

Explore how characters, conflicts, and resolutions come together to form compelling narratives. Then, present and “pitch” your original play concept!

Tickets will be available 30 minutes before the program.

💙Thanks again to every person who donated anything to help me make my FREE BOOK FAIR happen for our Eagles! We had so many great books for students to pick from all week long! Every kid who wanted a book left so happy! Many even commented that it was so hard to pick just one!

📚All returning MPJH students who bring back their Summer Reading bookmark filled in will be able to join our summer reading celebration in August!

MPJH LIBRARY will host a FREE BOOK FAIR May 18-21 during students' RLA Final Exam, but we need your gently used books to make sure we have enough to share!
Please donate any junior high appropriate novels, graphic novels, or other books to the library from May 4-15. Students can drop them off at the library or parents can drop them off at the front office.

In May the MPJH Library will allow each student to pick a FREE book to take home for the summer. If you have books your child is finished reading that you could donate to our FREE BOOK FAIR, please send them with your child to Mrs. Lewis in the Library! Thank you in advance!
