A pocos días del Mundial de Fútbol, siento que no se respira el mismo ambiente de otras épocas. Entiendo que vivimos tiempos complejos: problemas económicos, conflictos políticos, guerras e incertidumbre en muchas partes del mundo.

Pero también debemos recordar algo: los momentos felices no llegan solos, se construyen. Hay que invertir tiempo en compartir con nuestros hijos, amigos, familiares y seres queridos.

El fútbol, la religión y la política son tres temas capaces de despertar grandes pasiones y, a veces, fanatismos. Sin embargo, también pueden servir para unirnos, conversar y compartir experiencias que nos recuerdan nuestra humanidad.

La felicidad permanente quizás no existe. Lo que sí existe son momentos felices. Y muchas veces, un Mundial es una excusa perfecta para crear algunos de esos recuerdos que nos acompañarán toda la vida.

With the World Cup just around the corner, it feels like the excitement isn’t quite the same as in previous years. I understand that these are challenging times, with economic difficulties, political tensions, wars, and uncertainty affecting many people around the world.

But it’s important to remember something: happy moments don’t simply appear; they are created. We must invest time in our families, friends, children, and the people we care about.

Soccer, religion, and politics are three subjects that often generate strong emotions and even fanaticism. Yet they can also bring people together, encourage conversation, and remind us of our shared humanity.

Permanent happiness may not exist. What does exist are happy moments. And a World Cup can be the perfect opportunity to create memories that stay with us forever.

A veces pareciera que estamos esperando al Chapulín Colorado, al Zorro o a un superhéroe perfecto que venga a resolver todos nuestros problemas.

Pero la historia nos enseña algo diferente.

Bolívar proclamó la Guerra a Muerte y años después se sentó a dialogar con Morillo en Santa Ana de Trujillo. No abandonó su sueño de independencia. Entendió que una cosa son los principios y otra las estrategias.

La política no es magia.

La política es el arte de construir acuerdos, incluso con personas que piensan diferente.

Hay una diferencia entre apoyar a un líder y convertirse en fanático. El fanático sigue personas. El ciudadano sigue principios.

Los países reales no se construyen con superhéroes. Se construyen con ciudadanos capaces de pensar, analizar y tener paciencia.

Menos fanatismo. Más análisis. Más madurez política.
