History made!

For the first time in school history, our Science Olympiad team competed at the Science Olympiad National Tournament and delivered a great performance, finishing 13th out of 60 of the top teams in the country!

To put that into perspective, there are more than 7,000 middle school Science Olympiad teams nationwide. Our students rose to the very top tier. Even more impressive, we were the highest-ranking newcomer team in the entire country!

This outstanding accomplishment is a direct reflection of who we are as a campus. Our team truly lived out our creed: Spartans Lead and Protect, Spartans are Disciplined, and Spartans Never Quit. Their commitment, perseverance, and teamwork were on full display on the national stage.

A huge thank you to our incredible coaches, Mrs. Shearer and Mr. Kiehnhoff, for their leadership, dedication, and belief in our students every step of the way.

We couldn’t be prouder of how our Spartans represented our school!

SLJH was happy to provide cookies for our sister school, MDJH, as teachers prepare to head into summer break! 🍪🧡💙 Wishing their staff a relaxing and well-deserved summer after a fantastic school year.

Dr. Lopardo and our PTA enjoyed hosting a Coffee Chat with our incoming 6th grade parents! ☕🧡💙 It was a great opportunity to welcome future Spartans, answer questions about junior high, and help families feel prepared and excited for the transition to SLJH. We are looking forward to an amazing year ahead!

Spartans tried a new project in Algebra this past week, and 8th grade teachers were blown away by our their creativity! 🎨📈

Students applied their learning of linear, exponential, and quadratic functions to create original pieces of mathematical art. The results were incredible and showcased not only their understanding of algebraic concepts, but also their creativity and innovation.

We are so proud of the hard work and talent our Spartans continue to demonstrate both inside and outside the classroom! 🧡💙
