🌧️🌪️ Growth Through the Storm | So Proud of Our TTT Volunteers!

The Lunar New Year Festival at Katy Asian Town (2/14-16) was a huge success —
but behind that success was an unexpected test of extreme weather.

On the first day, a tornado hit the site.
All the tents were destroyed, tables and chairs were covered in mud, and large areas of the grass were flooded. The venue was left in complete chaos, and many people worried that the second day’s event would be impossible to hold.

Early the next morning, under the leadership of the To The Top teachers, more than 50 high school volunteers showed up and immediately got to work.

They divided into teams, rebuilt the tents, cleaned the tables and chairs, relocated the stage and the entrance — and in just three nonstop hours, they turned what looked like an impossible situation into a fully functioning event space.

💡 In a real emergency, they learned how to:
• Think creatively
• Solve problems efficiently
• Work as a team with true responsibility and ex*****on

For many of them, this was intense physical labor they had never experienced before —
yet not a single student complained.

Some of the girls who usually look gentle and quiet rushed to carry heavy tables on their own, insisting that the boys not do it for them.

Lunch didn’t arrive until 1 PM.
Everyone was exhausted and starving —
but still, no complaints. Only smiles.

❤️ We could not be more proud of them.

Many parents said they could hardly believe
these were the same “rebellious” teenagers at home.

Most importantly, the students were genuinely happy.
They felt the joy of contributing, the strength of teamwork, and the confidence that comes from overcoming a real challenge.

This is the true meaning of service.
This is real growth.

During a brainstorming session about how to support communities affected by leprosy,
B’s eyes lit up immediately.
This wasn’t “project enthusiasm” — it was an urge to act.

She quickly:
• Took the initiative to contact international organizations, including the WHO
• Identified leprosy survivor communities across multiple regions in China
• Organized art exhibitions to raise funds for public welfare

In the summer of 11th grade, she traveled alone to the Daliang Mountains in China,
where she helped establish a small library for the children of leprosy survivors and delivered tangible support.

For a 17-year-old, this goes far beyond “college applications.”
It reflects authentic kindness — unfiltered and unpolished.

Story 2 | Real Learning Begins When Curiosity Is Ignited

B’s PSAT score was not outstanding — 1320.
With a “why not try” mindset, she enrolled in Jared’s SAT online course.

During the very first class, her mother heard her speaking excitedly from her room.
She wasn’t on a call — she was talking to herself.
She later explained that concepts she had only half understood before suddenly made complete sense.
She said, “I’ve never taken a class this good in my life.”

Her SAT score eventually rose to 1560.
But more importantly, her innate love of learning and intellectual curiosity never wavered.

B attends a very ordinary public high school in the Houston area — no built-in advantages.
She didn’t stack countless APs, and her SAT wasn’t a perfect score.

But she possesses what truly matters:
