Katy’s Griffin Elementary School’s librarian brings a legacy of three generations of library love to students. Librarian Sarah Canales follows in her mother’s and grandmother’s footsteps as she continues to share the love of books with children.

Our BELOVED security guard, Officer Bob, is officially retired after today. Our GRIFFIN GRIZZLIES lined the halls this afternoon to give him a "clap out!" Officer Bob has been MORE THAN just a security guard to our staff and students...he has been a friendly face, a grandpa, a friend, a protector. He will be missed, but we are excited for his next chapter of fishing whenever he wants!

We are SO PROUD of our STUDENTS, TEACHERS and GRIFFIN COMMUNITY as Michael L. Griffin Elementary once again got an A rating with the Texas Education Agency AND ALL 6 Distinguished Designations! We have so much to celebrate with our hard working Griffin Community! Congratulations!

Our Griffin Staff was warmly welcomed "under the BIG TOP" for the 2026-27 school year where they have participated in engaging team building activities, dove into some school and student data digs, and focused on long range planning, small group planning, and differentiation! All of that learning and planning while they excitedly get their rooms ready to greet students for the new school year! We absolutely have "the best staff on Earth!"
