Test optional/blind policies, combined with grade inflation and COVID-era online “learning,” have led to unprepared college students who lack foundational skills.
Many dropout and carry the debt without the degree.
Lowering standards has been a disservice (and often even detrimental) to those it was intended support.
Bring back Ds and Fs.
Do away with social promotions.
Develop programs for remediating learning deficits instead of passing the buck. Report the percentage of students earning As on high school profile sheets.
