Congratulations to the first class to complete the Water Operations Licensing Program with Katy ISD! Through a partnership with Inframark, these students had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience participating in paid internships while learning about daily water operations. Recently Inframark held a signing day, offering these students full time paid positions within their company. Good luck to all as they enter the workforce and begin their post-secondary journeys!

Temporary tattoos and permanent memories! Last week our SkillsUSA organization hosted a Tattoo-A-Teacher fundraiser. Students could pick out and purchase a temporary tattoo they wanted to see their teacher wear for 24 hours. The staff were great sports and even our administrators got in on the fun, all for a good cause!

Recently we had the privilege of honoring our Practicum in Education students during our annual Education Signing Day where each received a Katy ISD Graduate Letter of Intent to Hire. Over the last 2 years, these wonderful students have been committed to growing and learning while working with elementary and junior high students in the classroom. We wish them all the best as they prepare for graduation and continue their paths to becoming future educators.

Thank you to the Special Response Team from City of Katy Police Dept. for visiting with our Law Enforcement students today! From an emergency response vehicle, to a drone that clears buildings, and a well trained K9, our students were able to get a great behind-the-scenes look at the different resources used to safely handle unique situations. What a great way to enhance the Patrol & Tactical unit!

Congratulations to our April Marvelous Miller staff members: our Legal Studies teacher, Mrs. Dilley, and our Automotive Technology teacher, Mr. Halbison! They do a fantastic job engaging our students during instructional and lab time, and their commitment to ensuring the success of our students does not go unnoticed. Both are always willing to help and support students and staff in need. Thank you both for being part of the Miller family!

Thanks to Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union for another successful Reality Fair for our economics classes. This valuable community outreach helps our seniors fully understand the financial responsibilities of adulthood.
