Such an amazing concert from our 5-8 grade middle school choirs!

It had been so filling to hear all of the positives, the joys, the laughs and the support from students, staff and parents around this concert. I know students look forward to it because it is the “fun” music (Isbell eye roll) but more than anything I look forward to it because of all the fun loving energy, support and positive memories that come with this final “pops” concert.

I am very impressed and very proud of all 200 choir students that make this possible and help create these moments!

What. A. Day!!

8th grade band and choir performed at “Trills and Thrills” music festival today in front of two adjudicators. After the performance we spent the rest of the day at Valley Fair basking in the glory of their hard work!

Fantastic job and all the Bella singers that performed this afternoon and evening! I always love seeing all the heart and meaning in the program and how it directly translates to the stage with their singers.

It was a beautiful concert and I was very happy to attend and see so many young musicians, including many of the ones I work with or have worked with!

Kasson-Mantorville School district has been selected to receive the recognition! KM is one of 13 schools selected in the state of Minnesota for 2026 to receive this honor!

Congratulations to for their phenomenal performance this afternoon as their “Spring Finale”. What a way to end the season! All choirs involved did such a fantastic job in all aspects of their performances!

It was so amazing to see so many KM students represented in these choirs! (Brecken Meeker, Maria Ydstie, Marlee Meeker, Keana Meyer, Cecelia Hess, Hazel Kamel, Kaitlyn Hess, Zoe Wallenstein, Adelyn Wohlenhaus, Torsten Herfindahl-Quint and Harvey Knutson) please let me know if I missed anyone!!

It was also so amazing to see all of the past students I had from working in Rochester still involved and still recognizing me! Logan Holt I got to talk with after, I worked with him in Middle school and High school choir and now he’s a senior and the Concert Choir president. Other former students I saw include Victor Ayebo, Adriel Dogo-Esekie, Violet Cummings, Char Fall, Kai Anderson, Eli Utne, Donovan Baskett, Emily Haase)

I always attend these events and find it refreshing and a gentle mental reset and today I was filled with so many emotions seeing current and past students all on stage together singing truly magnificent music. Pride and happiness aren’t enough to describe it, but it’s exactly what I felt!

Friday the KM 6th grade choirs were lucky enough to have the Bella Choirs perform for them and learn about empowerment, collaboration and the beauty in what we do.

I am always so happy to have the Bella’s sing in my classroom and watch them perform!

In this choir there are 3 KM singers represented! (Faye Moehnke, Cassidy Torgerson and Kayleigh Kammel)

Musicians from KMHS participated in MSHSL Solo and Ensemble Contest at Byron on Saturday, April 11h It was a fun day filled with many great performances.

At this contest, students perform music for a judge and get ratings on a 40 point scale. Events that score above 35 earn a “Superior” rating while events that score between 28 and 34 receive an “Excellent” rating. KM Choir earned 21 Superior ratings and 12 Excellent ratings.
earned 32 Superior ratings and 7 Excellent ratings.

Each judge designates the best performance of the
day with a “Best In Site” award. KMHS earned 3 “Best In Site” awards. Oboist Elshana Todor (12th) earned the award for her performance of the Saint-Saens Oboe Sonata. Maddie Nelson (12) and Knox Goundry (10) earned the award for their vocal duet “Isn’t It a Trial.”
