UH West O‘ahu alum’s research showcased at summer symposium

University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu spring 2026 graduate Bryson Rimas, who earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Data Analytics, recently presented his research on breadfruit production in Hawai‘i at the 2026 Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) Symposium at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.

$300K awarded to UH West Oʻahu efforts to strengthen Hawai‘i’s math educator workforce

The University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu will receive over $300,000 in funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) for a project aimed at addressing the national shortage of certified secondary STEM teachers, particularly in mathematics education, by strengthening pathways into secondary mathematics teaching and expanding access to STEM and STEM-teaching degrees.
