The next doula gathering will be on Saturday November 23 from 2:00 to 4:00 at Mieko's office. The address is 4558 Kukui Street on the second floor in Kapaa.
If you plan on attending please let me know and I will pass your name on to the women who are organizing the meeting.
Please do make an effort to come as we are working to organize the Kauai Doula group and become an important presence in the community. Mahalo and many blessings.

Aloha Kakou,
We will be meeting on Sunday the 15 from 1:00 to 3:00 to continue the discussion we began at our last meeting on Sunday the 1st. We are looking for input and help to offer several events at the public libraries.

Here is a description of what is planned:
Join the Kauai Doulas for an interactive Meet and Greet where you will:
-Learn what a doula is and how they support your pregnancy, birth experience and postpartum
-Connect with your wonderful community of growing families and birth professionals
Schedule
Introduction to childbirth education/doula skills
Resources and services available to you
Simple meditation and thoughtful art project
Short informative movie
Meet and Greet

Please join us on the 15th at 1:00 with your input. We will need your help to make this a successful event that will help to get the doula message to more people. Meeting place is my home on Kawaihau Road. Please let me know if you plan on joining us and if you need directions.

We will be meeting again at Sarah's beautiful home on Kahuna Road for the next doula gathering. The date is Sunday July 28 from 1:00 to 4:00 in Kapahi.

THE NEXT SACRED BIRTHING COMMUNITY DOULA /PRECONCEPTION COURSE

Begins on August 16 and ends on December 20, 2019
Course location:
The Sacred Birthing School - Kapahi

This Community Doula/Preconception course will Prepare You to:
• Support families to remember the Sacred in all birthing environments
• Share the honor of birth with parents by empowering and honoring their choices
• Explore your own birth experience to understand its effect on being a doula and your present life
• Learn skills to be with parents through pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum
• Prepare yourself physically, emotional and spiritually to receive a child into your own life
• Live your life in an awake and conscious state no matter what you do
• Participate in two day Heal You Own Birth and energy workshop workshops
• Become a Certified Sacred Birthing Community Doula
• Preparing yourself to be a parent

Classes meet on Friday mornings from 9:00 to 1:00 for 18 weeks. The course stars on August 16 and ends on December 20 2019. September 13 and 14 will be an all day workshop for the Heal Your Own Birth portion of this class series, and November 15 and 16 will be an energy workshop. Tuition for the course is $1350.00 plus a $50.00 registration fee. Sacred Birthing Certification will be awarded to those Doulas who complete the birth requirements.

Aloha Kakou,
We are planning a summer doula gathering on Sunday June 30 from 1:00 to 4:00. Sarah Bisarello has offered her beautiful space on Kahuna Road for this gathering. We will be coming together to meet each other and get the doula community really connected. This will be an opportunity to meet and talk about the future of doulas on Kauai. Bring food to share if you desire and come with all your wisdom about the importance of the doula and how to spread the doula spirit throughout Kauai.
