Cookson Hills provides home, school, and therapy for kids who are at-risk. For many kids, Cookson Hills is their childhood home.

Since 1957, Cookson Hills has provided home, school, and therapy for kids who are at-risk. We are a children’s home in Northeast Oklahoma, serving kids ages 5-17 who want to write a better story for their lives and have experienced challenges with family life, homelessness, poor peer relationships, abuse, or neglect. Compelled by the love of Christ, our team works together to fulfill our vision – to raise up healthy individuals who are empowered to positively impact future generations. For others it’s a temporary home for about two years. All kids come here to live within a family. They enroll in school, they learn, they play sports, they make friends, they help set the table, they laugh, they talk, they ride horses, they heal, and (we hope) they leave better than they came.

🏆OUR BOARD JUST HONORED 2 TEACHERS

Our Board of Directors recognized two staff members who pour into our students every day:

🍎 Wendy Gideon, 4th & 5th Grade Teacher
🎺 Ken Kelly, Band Teacher

From the band room to the classroom, Ken and Wendy are building confidence, character, and skills that will last a lifetime. Their leadership is helping rewrite stories for eternity, and we’re SO GRATEFUL for them both! The Lord brought them to Cookson Hills for such a time as this, and we’re thankful He did! 🙌

🎓 SENIOR NIGHT RECAP

Our seniors were honored with roses, volleyballs signed by their teammates, and a walk across the court beside the people who’ve cheered them on all season. They’ve led with heart every step of the way, and we’re backing their next steps in prayer, asking the Lord to bless all He has in store for them. 🚀

“May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace.” Numbers 6:24-26 🙏

LET THE DEBATE BEGIN! 🗳️ 🇺🇸

Our students PACKED the room with staff and community members for a Mock Debate, and our student leaders, Alex and Kaylee, stepped up to the podium and defended their stances with dedication and poise! 🏛️🎤

Huge shoutout to Mrs. Kelly, whose creative teaching made this exercise so engaging! Through this experience, students learned to speak with confidence, research and back up their beliefs, and listen to other views with respect. 🤝 Those are skills they’ll carry for LIFE!

GRATEFUL GRATEFUL GRATEFUL!!! 🙌

They drove HUNDREDS of miles just to serve us, repairing the siding on our maintenance sheds and organizing the supplies inside. THANK YOU for your hard work and generous hearts. We couldn’t have done it without you! 💙

SCIENCE IS HEATING UP ON CAMPUS! 🔥☀️

In Ms. Hodges' classroom, 2nd and 3rd graders teamed up with stopwatches to test which solid would melt the fastest, recording their data and using the evidence to crown a winner. 🏆

Meanwhile, Mr. Green's middle schoolers took their lab out into the sunshine to explore how the sun influences life on earth, growing plants under unfiltered, blue and green light, and measuring the effects on light intensity, temperature and growth. 🌱🔬

HEAVEN IS REJOICING!! 🎉

This weekend, Celi and Isela were BAPTIZED!!! 💙

Celi gave her life to Christ at camp this summer with Mrs. Green by her side, so it was only fitting that Mrs. Green baptized her. Isela chose someone who had been there from the start too: Mrs. Graney, who first opened God's Word with her when she arrived at Cookson Hills and now got to see that faith become her own.

THIS is what discipleship looks like! We couldn't be prouder! 🥹 🙏Thank you New Life Ranch for hosting us!

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" 2 Corinthians 5:17

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is — His good, pleasing and perfect will."

48 HOURS. ONE EPIC RETREAT🔥

Swimming, games, worship, and prayer at The Getaway! 🏊‍♀️🙌 Our middle schoolers walked through the Gospel of John and discovered that Jesus is the Light who reveals truth, the Good Shepherd who calls them by name, and the Way who leads them home. Each girl received a stone marked 2026, a reminder of a decision she made to follow Him more closely. 🪨✨

A huge thank you to Ozark Christian College for hosting us and pouring into our students!🙏

To everyone who prays for and supports Cookson Hills: weekends like this are what you make possible. Their futures are in His hands, and we're so grateful you're walking alongside them💙
