KU's Bachelors of Science Degree in Respiratory Care advances the profession by training students to become leaders the clinic, teaching and research.

Professionals trained in the Department of Respiratory Care Education at the University of Kansas Medical Center treat patients with respiratory and other cardiopulmonary disorders. These patients range from premature infants with underdeveloped lungs to the elderly suffering from disease. KU offers two bachelor's degree programs to train respiratory therapists.
