Congratulations to Brookside Charter School students for partnering with KC Water to build a 3D model of planned green infrastructure improvements at Daniel Morgan Boone Park.

Students explored careers in engineering, landscape architecture and community design while creating a model that will help residents visualize the park's future.

This week we welcomed our new teachers and staff to Brookside Charter School!

Our new staff induction is a special week! Staff go through Leader in Me training, the same training all students go through at the beginning of the year and the framework that guides our school community throughout the year. They also had trauma informed care training, learned about the history of Brookside Charter, and the history of public education in Kansas City. Throughout the week they built community and connection as a team!

We are excited to have them join the entire staff next week!

We are so proud of our Assistant Principal, Courtney Jefferson, who is a finalist for 2026 Excellence in Education Awards!

Thank you SchoolSmart KC for recognizing our excellent leader! We can't wait to see the results.

Just because we are on summer break does not mean the construction team stops! Check out the progress on our South Campus Expansion. Our PreK-2nd grade building will be opening for the 2027-2028 school year.

Last week, we spotted some of our teachers enjoying Teacher Night at the K!

Thank you Kansas City Royals for dedicating an entire night to celebrate teachers! They pour so much time, energy, and passion into their careers and deserve all the celebration and recognition we can offer.
