Happy Thursday Hawks! Student Senate applications are officially in and we are looking forward to elections! Voting is April 8 - 10 and we want to see all of your votes, so keep your eyes on your email! Due to the exciting nature of this year's elections, we are hosting a Student Senate Meet + Greet and Presidental Debate next Tuesday (April 2). Get to know your potential Senators at 8pm in the Fishbowl and then hear from your presidential candidates at 9pm. We hope to see you there!

Welcome back Hawks! Student Senate hopes you all had a wonderful and restful break. It is the time of year that Student Senate applications come out and we would love to have you apply. Grab an application in Massman 1 or find it on our website (rusenate.com) Applications are due March 27!

On Wednesday, January 30, the JSGA signed onto a comment to the Department of Education regarding the new Title IX proposed regulations spear-headed by Shanta Katipamula, the Student Body President at Stanford University. Of the 76 schools that signed, 24 were Jesuit institutions and members of the Jesuit Student Government Alliance, including Rockhurst University.

The decision to sign came after significant reflection and conversation to deeply understand the proposed policy changes in an unbiased way. It is of my concern, as well as Student Senate, and the AJCU's, that there would be a possible chilling effect from these changes, leading to fewer people reporting their experiences of harassment and assault and a threat to ensuring an equitable process.
