What a way to kick off the school year with our first assembly!πŸŽ‰

We welcomed our students back, introduced our staff, and even had a special appearance from our Mustang mascot! πŸ΄πŸ‘ Students and staff had a blast playing games, cheering each other on, and celebrating the start of a new school year.

The energy in the gym was AMAZING, and we can already tell this is going to be a GREAT year! πŸ’™πŸ’›

GO MUSTANGS! 🐴πŸ”₯

Classes are cancelled today. August 19, 2026

Dear KCKPS families,

Due to widespread power outages and hazardous road conditions, classes have been canceled today, Wednesday, August 19. Please stay safe!

Today, our Family Advocacy (FA) teachers will be reaching out to families with a welcome call to introduce themselves, answer questions, and help set students up for a successful year.

Parents and guardians, please keep your phone nearby and answer if you receive a call from an unfamiliar number. It could be your student's FA teacher ready to welcome you to the 2026-2027 school year.

At KCKPS, every connection matters, and it all starts with a conversation.

Please read this update from the district regarding the State of Kansas House Bill 2299 prohibiting students from having cell phones, smart watches and/or wireless earbuds during school.

Beginning July 1, 2026, House Bill 2299 prohibits students from using personal electronic communication devices during the school day and requires that such devices be turned off and securely stored away from students while on school grounds. To support a focused and engaging learning environment, any phone brought to school will be safely collected upon arrival and returned at the end of the school day.

Additional information regarding the specific procedures and expectations will be shared with students and families before implementation, and families may review the full bill at the link below.
