Tonight was a wonderful night as we officially kicked off the 2026-2027 school year at Maplewood with Back to School Night! It was amazing to welcome back our returning students and families as well as meet new students and families to the Maplewood school family! This year will is going to be an AMAZING year! 💚 ! 💚

We’re making it easier to stay connected! 📲🔔

We are now using ParentSquare for all communication between school and home. Families can receive updates, sign forms, view upcoming events, and more – on your phone, computer, or through the app. ParentSquare will replace other apps in use, such as SportsYou, ClassDojo and SchoolMessenger. We’ve heard feedback from families about the need to streamline communications, and we’re looking forward to the improved experience ParentSquare will provide.

All parents and guardians are automatically enrolled to receive emails and text messages. We encourage you to download the ParentSquare app, where you can further set preferences for how, when and in what language you’d like to get messages. Stay tuned for the first messages as we prepare for the new school year ahead!

To ensure a smooth start to the school year and help us provide bus information earlier, all families must complete enrollment by Tuesday, August 18 at 10 a.m. to guarantee their student will have a bus assigned for the first day of school. If enrollment is completed after August 18 but before the first day of school, we will do our best to assign a bus stop and provide transportation as quickly as possible (within 4-5 days), but we cannot guarantee service will be available on the first day.

Completed enrollment includes:
· Proof of residency (two required forms)
· Immunization records
· Contact information for at least one guardian and at least one emergency contact
· Proof of parental or legal guardianship, if requested

We know this is a new change to our enrollment process, which is why we want to make sure you are aware. If you need assistance completing enrollment, please contact the Maplewood front office or Transportation Department. This change will help us plan routes more efficiently, reduce last-minute changes, and provide a seamless transportation experience on the first day of school.

Today, the Maplewood Building Leadership Team (BLT) came together for our 2026 Leadership Retreat! 💚

We kicked off the day at Big Brothers Big Sisters, where we learned more about their incredible mission and had the opportunity to volunteer. Their motto, “Defend Potential,” deeply resonated with us. At Maplewood, we are committed to noticing, supporting, and defending the potential of every student, and today’s experience was a meaningful reminder of why that work matters.

We then spent the afternoon diving into our current data, celebrating our successes, identifying opportunities for growth, and creating goals and action steps for the 2026–2027 school year. We are excited about the work ahead and the impact it will have on our students, staff, and families.

A special thank you to Forge Construction for hosting our retreat, providing lunch, and creating a welcoming space for our team to connect, collaborate, and plan for another amazing year at Maplewood.
