Tonight BSU had a more lighthearted meeting as many of our members, and other Rockhurst students, are getting into the gritty with their classes and need to have a little fun 😅
However, we did watch a short video over Minority Health Disparities in honor of National World Health Day (April 7th) and had a short conversation about some problems and fears in communities of color regarding healthcare.
It wouldn’t be a BSU meeting if we didn’t talk about something important to POC and allies alike! ❤️ ✌🏽

Cultural appropriation can be a tricky topic to tackle nowadays. It seems like everyone is “too sensitive” or “overreacting” and it can be hard to show love for another culture without seeming like a “culture vulture”.
We had an excellent conversation about cultural appropriation and how it affects both the appropriated and the appropriators.
The best way to discuss sensitive topics is openly and with love ❤️
