Now that we posted Dr. Harrelson's arrangement on his birthday, we are excited to share our final ITEC piece, NGC 7320, by recent studio graduate Ian Lester, this one on his birthday! NGC 7320 is a spiral galaxy located within Stephan’s Quintet but is not considered a true member of the quintet due to it being the most isolated of the five galaxies. We had a fantastic time working up this new space-themed work for tuba quartet (played by the entire ensemble here). And a final thank you to Scott Sutherland for the recording and editing of our set! Help us wish Ian a happy birthday and enjoy our performance of NGC 7320!

The UMKC Tuba Euphonium Studio has a rich tradition of our students composing and arranging works for the ensemble in addition to performing in it! The next piece we want to share from our ITEC performance is studio alumnus Logan Jungman's work for tuba/euphonium octet Outburst!! Outburst is a challenging and exciting piece that we had a ton of fun working up! You can also buy the sheet music to Outburst below if you are interested! Once again, a HUGE thank you to Scott Sutherland for the recording and editing!

It is a little late in the day to posting this, but while it is still Dr. Harrelson's birthday (WOOOOOO!!), we want to share our 2nd ITEC piece, Dr. Harrelson's gorgeous arrangement of Vienna Teng's Hymn of Acxiom, a stunningly beautiful work addressing the pros and cons of the surveillance through marketing-data companies, of all things! Help us wish Dr. Harrelson a happy birthday and enjoy our premiere performance of the tuba/euphonium ensemble version of Hymn of Acxiom!! Again, a HUGE thank you to Scott Sutherland for his expert recording and editing job!!
