In February 2012, 3DimensionED and Media-X combined resources to develop iCare, a comprehensive solution for addressing behavior, and bullying. Most technology-driven companies assume by putting technology in the hands of students, teachers, and parents, that overnight success will be realized. Yes, powerful technology is a critical component and data will certainly help measure and drive results, but we also recognize the importance of having an effective implementation and an ongoing process to achieve systemic change! Other programs typically focus on one social issue, (i.e. bullying), or one solution, (i.e. offering an application, a telephone “hotline”, a text messaging service, or a one-day training). iCare is committed to providing comprehensive support for students while reducing workloads for school staff. Even if districts have programs in place to address specific areas (bullying, domestic violence, su***de prevention, drug and alcohol use, etc.), unaligned or single issue tools are often misused or become a catch-all for the remaining social issues. For a District Safe School Coordinator, Principal, or School Counselor, weeding through a large number of unreasoned messages, or lower priority alerts, creates excessive work and frustration. This can be avoided when using the iCare application because of our unique method through Mapping.
