The UMKC Pride Alliance is accepting submissions from visual and performing artists that identify as LGBTQIA+ to participate in an Art Gallery and Talent Show!


When: November 7th from 6pm-9pm

Where: UMKC Student Union


How to submit:
Visual artists: Please send photographs of any artwork you would like to have considered for inclusion to [email protected]. A brief artist's statement, while not required, would be appreciated. Please send your submissions by October 26th at noon.


Performing artists: Auditions for the show will take place on October 17th and 18th from 7-9pm in the UMKC student union. To sign up for auditions please email [email protected] with the date you will be auditioning at, as well as a brief description of what you plan on performing.

Every day people miss work and class due to domestic violence, and to call attention to those empty chairs, the UMKC Department of Art and Art History students are helping us implement the Empty Chair Campaign during Domestic Violence Awareness Month at UMKC!

Check out all 17 works of art at the Atterbury Student Success Center, Student Union, Miller Nichols Library, and the Admin Center. A select few of the chairs will form the Empty Chairs exhibition at Miller Nichols beginning Oct. 25.

Google Just Launched One of the Largest Digital Collections of Latino Art & History Launched on September 7, Latino Cultures in the US is one of the largest digital collections of Latino art, culture, and history.

Junior Art History major Cara Nordengren representing at the 2017 SUROP Poster Symposium! Cara went to New York City on her grant project titled "I Meant To Do That: The Intentionality of Tool Marks on Ancient Greek Stelai."

Cara's research mentor was Dr. Robert Cohon, UMKC Art History professor and The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art Curator of the Ancient World.
