Elkhorn Elementary in Excelsior Springs School District #40 out there boosting family involvement by hosting a table at Open House! Students earned pencils and bracelets for reviewing school-wide behavior expectations and parents got to sign up to serve on the Tier 1 PBIS committee. There were handouts about PBIS at the school and suggestions for home connections and the 2026 award plaque for all to see. This school is ready to take systems to the next level!

The KC-RPDC spent yesterday with 289 incredible special educators, process coordinators, testing diagnosticians, related service providers, and special education administrators in the Lee's Summit R-7 School District!

Their discussion focused on Prior Written Notices (PWNs)—what they are, when they’re required, and how to create them effectively.

It was such a privilege to spend time with a knowledgeable and dedicated group of professionals. We can’t wait to see all they accomplish and wish their entire team a successful start to the school year! 🍎📚

A night of awards at the KC RPDC! Missouri Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support consultants Renee Bradshaw, Christi Rice, Annette Shelton and Anne Tate presented 2026 MO SW-PBS Awards of Excellence to their Kansas City regional schools. Hard work pays off in fidelity of implementation and innovation. Each school team shared a highlight from last year. While not everyone could make it to Union Station for the celebration this year, we are celebrating everyone! Tuesday was a fantastic day of learning at Liberty Public Schools High School! Special educators from across the district spent one of their last precious days of summer diving into how to develop standards-aligned IEPs.
The teams learned how to unpack the Missouri Learning Standards and Essential Elements, while also practicing how to incorporate meaningful, standards-aligned data into their IEPs. We’re so grateful for their dedication to continuous learning and their commitment to creating meaningful, individualized plans that support student success!
