Early April brought a special kind of energy to the future home of NWDC. The team from Serving Kingdom KC, who are organizing our upcoming NWDC golf tournament, stepped onto the construction site and got a firsthand look at what’s rising from the ground.

We’re incredibly thankful for Serving Kingdom KC and the way they’re rallying support through the golf tournament and beyond.

You can watch the full visit and hear from Campaign Lead & Executive Director Brian Noller, JE Dunn's Project Engineer Austin Panko and the Serving Kingdom team on their YouTube channel below!

We’re excited to share that starting in the 2026–2027 school year, the Northland Education + Business Alliance (NEBA) program will officially transition to the Northland Workforce Development Center (NWDC).

For nearly 30 years, NEBA has been connecting educators and business leaders to better prepare students for real-world careers. Now, by bringing NEBA under the NWDC umbrella, we’re taking that impact even further - expanding partnerships, strengthening connections, and building a more powerful workforce pipeline for our region.

NEBA will continue meeting through June 2026 under Clay County EDC, with NWDC launching the program in September 2026. NEBA currently meets at Antioch Bible Church and will continue to do so until the new NWDC building is complete in early Summer 2027. As always, meetings are free and open to attend!

This exciting transition reflects a shared commitment between Clay County EDC, Platte County EDC, and NWDC to invest in our community’s future through collaboration and innovation.

Big Milestones Taking Shape πŸ₯³

We're excited to send you all into the weekend with the latest construction update video! It highlights the incredible progress made over the past two months on-site. From major concrete pours to the completion of structural steel and concrete, the project is really taking shape. You’ll also catch some great moments from the topping out ceremony, along with early progress on the EXPO Center as it begins to rise 😊

Thank you to our friends from JE Dunn Construction as always for the amazing video and continued incredible work on this project!

What an exciting and meaningful day for NWDC!

Yesterday we had the opportunity to tour the construction site and see firsthand the incredible progress being made but we were also proud to be joined by representatives from Doherty Steel and IHD Solutions, whose partnership and support continue to play an important role in making this project possible. It was a great chance to connect, share progress, and celebrate how far we’ve come.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to both for their generous donation checks presented to NWDC. Their investment in our mission helps ensure we can continue creating opportunities, building pathways, and strengthening our workforce for the future.

We’d also like to give special recognition to Doherty Steel, who is not only a valued partner but also one of the builders helping bring this facility to life. Seeing their work up close made the experience even more impactful.

Hard hats ON and excitement HIGH this morning as our board and team members toured the NWDC construction site!

A huge thank you to JE Dunn Construction for leading us through the site and providing a behind-the-scenes look at the incredible progress being made. Each visit makes it more real, and today’s tour was no exception. The pace of construction has been remarkable and it's all thanks to JE Dunn Construction and Doherty Steel and their amazing workers! πŸ₯³

It’s especially meaningful knowing that just last month we gathered on-site for the topping out ceremony. In just a few short weeks, the transformation has been impressive, and it’s exciting to see the vision for this space continuing to take shape so quickly.

Fun Fact: the steel beam signed by our board and team members as well as other important project partners and collaborators during the topping out ceremony will remain visible even after construction is complete. It will serve as a lasting reminder of the people, partnerships, and shared commitment behind this project πŸ₯°

We’re grateful to everyone helping bring this vision to life and can’t wait to continue watching the progress unfold in the weeks ahead!
