KC Streetcar involved in downtown crash 12/27/2021

Another speeding car runs a red light on Truman Road.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

The city must immediately address this recurring issue by turning the signal at Baltimore & Truman to 4-way flashing red. The signal no longer meets MUTCD warrants and could be permanently replaced with stop signs that would slow eastbound traffic on Truman, reducing the severity of crashes.

Longer term Truman Road should be narrowed by allowing on-street parking along the south curb with a bump-out at Baltimore to reduce the crossing distance and further slow traffic.
