We kicked off our Kentucky Derby themed Teacher Appreciation Week in style today!

From the fabulous hats and standout outfits to the delicious food, our families showed up ready to celebrate our teachers, and it did not disappoint!

Day 1 set the bar high, and if today is any indication, we’re in for a winning week. So grateful for a team that knows how to have fun and deserves to be celebrated. 🏁

Heads up, Wyandotte County!
I-70 will have major closures starting next week.

Beginning Thursday night, November 20, and lasting until Monday morning, November 24, parts of I-70 and I-435 will be completely closed so KDOT can fix pavement near the bridges. Detours will be marked, so follow the signs.

What’s closing and when:

🔸 Thursday, Nov. 20 – 7 PM
• Westbound I-70 at I-435
• Ramp from northbound I-435 to westbound I-70
• Ramp from westbound I-70 to southbound I-435

🔸 Friday, Nov. 21 – 9 AM
• Eastbound I-70 at I-435
• Ramp from eastbound I-70 to northbound I-435

All lanes and ramps reopen Monday, Nov. 24 at 5 AM.

Wrestling season is coming up! Need something to do during those cold winter days? Come hangout with a bunch of sweaty wrestlers.

The Piper Kids Wrestling Club will start practice on November 10th. This club is for school aged kids from kindergarten to 8th grade. The 7th and 8th graders need to finish their Piper Middle School season before joining our practices.

We will practice 3 days a week from November 10th to March 13th. A fourth day will be added after the 7th and 8th graders kids join.

High school aged kids can join at the end of your season for a chance to get to Kids State. Which can be an all class showdown!

Last year our club was in the top 10 in total participants with 140 kids. We started with 45 kids in 2018. We had 57 State Qualifiers, 3 State runner ups, 1-6U State runner up, 1-6u State Champion, 2-National runner ups and 1 National Champion in 6 years. Not too bad for just a local community club!

Our WyCo community is feeling heartbroken after the loss of Deputy Ming. 💙 At Mini Adventures, we are blessed to serve many brave parents who are first responders. So we wanted to send the Sherrifs department some extra love. Our little friends made sweet cards and stuffed care packages to let our heroes know we’re thinking about them and are so thankful for all they do! 💙💌🚓
