A History

Toni Oliver is a native of Kansas City, Missouri. She is an alumnus of Lincoln High School, Class of 67’, enrolled into the Kansas City Conservatory of Music (1956-1968), and Penn Valley Community College Class of ’93 graduating with Associates in Fine Arts. As the private instructor, of the Oliver School of Music, her students from the age of 4 to 90, receive the necessary technical skills in voice, piano, percussion and string bass along with instruction in music theory. As it relates to piano performance, collegiate institutions award full ride scholarships to students from the Oliver School of Music. With more than 40 years in the musical field, she has participated in gospel groups, a jazz vocalist, chorale director, gospel musician, private instructor and musical producer. Presently, she is the founder/CEO of the Oliver School of Music, which celebrates its 18th anniversary this year. Our adjunct faculty included the late musical great jazz balladeer Luqman Hamza, a/k/a Larry Cummings as vocal coach, Bobby Adams as percussion and Ricky Anderson string bass.
