Our third graders had the best time with Officer Evans and Officer Super. Last month they joined us to read their favorite supernatural stories. Having them visit is always one of favorite days in library!
K-5 Elementary Library and Technology Center in Kansas City, KS During the week our library has scheduled classes for all students in our school.
We have an amazing group of students, parents, staff and community members at ME Pearson Elementary School. Lessons vary everyday; everything from learning about authors and reading favorite books to creating videos and using the internet for class projects. October was so busy we barely had time to share! We started the month by taking our Annual trip to Emporia State University to celebrate the William Allen White award. 14 students met author Katherine Applegate and received a signed copy of her book!

Our second graders in Mrs. Carrier’s class used their imaginations to turn cardboard into structures today. They were so focused and had a great time.

Our 4th and 5th graders are using the app Stop Motion to retell Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen’s The Three Billy Goats Gruff. Check out our photos of Miss Quinonez’s class hard at work.

After listening to our book, a first grader in Mr. Currie’s class used his engineering skills to build his own bus to take to the moon. Our students have the best imaginations.

First graders in Ms. Connor’s class used cooperation to build a web after listening to Eric Carle’s The Very Busy Spider. They had so much fun!

This year a group of teachers are working to spark the Joy of Reading to our school. Tonight after school they stayed late to wrap a set of books for every classroom. Each month we will read a book as a whole school! We can’t wait to share our books with you here on Facebook.

After a long weekend we were ready to read new books. Kindergarten students in Mrs. Fowler’s class have been practicing book care and procedures in the library. Pictured are four students reading books on our favorite library couch.

Our first full week of school was great! We saw all our GenEd classes, read lots of books and enjoyed time in the library.
