We’re excited to see Kevin Barth, CEO of Commerce Bank and our 2026 Dancing with the Kansas City Stars champion, featured in The Independent Magazine!

“Dedication at Every Turn,” highlights Kevin’s journey from learning about Cristo Rey Kansas City to stepping onto the dance floor, and the deeper appreciation he gained for the dedication and determination our students bring to their own journeys every day.

Kevin’s impact at CRKC has extended well beyond the dance floor. He and Commerce Bank have been tremendous supporters of our students, including playing an important role in bringing our new Media Center and Library to life!

However, we encourage anyone who wants to learn more about Cristo Rey KC to attend our upcoming Meet & Greets, which will be held throughout the school year! Our next one is Wednesday, October 14th. Last Friday, our Cristo Rey KC community came together for a special student assembly celebrating the rich cultures and traditions of Hispanic Heritage Month!

Student Council brought the celebration to life with a flag parade, a presentation on the tradition and significance of quinceañeras, and traditional dances—including folklórico performances.

For the second year, a group of our CRKC female student-athletes proudly represented us at Sideline the Stigma at CPKC Stadium, hosted by the KC Current and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City.

This year’s theme, Pressure to Power, focused on growth, resilience and turning life’s pressures into opportunities to become stronger. Our student-athletes heard from an incredible panel featuring Betty Lennox, Alana Cook, Tiffani McReynolds and Haley Hopkins, who shared their experiences and perspectives as women in sports.

Students also participated in several breakout sessions, including a powerful session led by Meredith Rose on identity beyond athletics. She encouraged young women to see themselves as more than their performance, embrace growth through setbacks and remember that their worth is rooted in who they are—not what they achieve.

We’re grateful for opportunities like this that empower our young women and support their growth both on and off the field! ✨⚽

Vision screenings are available at Cristo Rey KC tomorrow, September 9th! Cristo Rey KC students will participate during the school day. Community members are welcome to participate once school concludes, from 4pm-6:30pm.

Families, if you would like your student to opt out of the screening, please complete the attached form and submit it to the school. No action is needed if you would like your child to participate.
