Thank you for making our Speed Networking event a success! Last week, Cristo Rey KC freshmen spoke with local business professionals to practice their professional skills and learn more about the corporate workspace. Today, we feature another amazing corporate work-study partner, Residential Sewage Treatment. Residential Sewage Treatment has helped Cristo Ry KC students, such as sophomore Jose (pictured) in building important work skills and confidence. Thank you to our partners for investing in our students and their futures!

Last week, our incoming freshmen kicked off their Cristo Rey KC journey with their first Mass, orientation, and a fun scavenger hunt that helped them explore campus and get to know their classes. 🎉📚

We are so excited to welcome George Meiners to the Cristo Rey KC Board of Trustees!

George is a seasoned financial executive and licensed CPA with a strong background in accounting, banking, and corporate finance. As Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Mechanical Breakdown Protection, Inc., he brings decades of experience in financial management, strategic oversight, and organizational leadership. Throughout his career with organizations including Price Waterhouse and State Street Bank, he has built a reputation for integrity, thoughtful leadership, and sound financial stewardship.

A Kansas City native, George is deeply committed to serving his community through educational, nonprofit, and faith-based organizations. He has dedicated many years to board and committee leadership roles with Cristo Rey Kansas City, JobOne, Our Lady of the Presentation Parish, First Business Bank, and The ESOP Association. Known for his collaborative approach and commitment to supporting mission-driven organizations, he values creating opportunities for others and strengthening the Kansas City community for future generations.

Free sports physicals for students are available on Tuesday, August 4th, at Cristo Rey KC! Come to 211 Linwood Blvd, KCMO 64111 from 9am-12pm to receive a free physical. Please bring a printed copy of the MSHSAA form. The physical form must be completed and signed by a parent or guardian before the exam. A parent or guardian must either be present in person during the physical or be available by phone to provide permission for the examination. Please contact Tony Meyer at [email protected] if you need the MSHAA form or if you have any questions.

This week, we're recognizing rising junior Jordy, who worked alongside his supervisor, Paige, at the Museum at Prairiefire, , this past spring, gaining valuable hands-on experience. Thank you, Museum at Prairiefire, for providing our students with invaluable workplace experience!

UPDATE:

Cristo Rey KC Athletic tryouts are coming up! From August 10th - 14th, from 4pm-6pm each day, students are encouraged to try out at Cristo Rey KC for the following sports: Boys Soccer, Girls Volleyball, and Boys & Girls Cross-Country! ⚽ 🏐 👟

Students must provide a current physical to try out. Free physicals are available at Vibrant Health on the 1st, 3rd, & 5th Saturdays of each month, 9am-12pm, at 340 SW Blvd, Kansas City KS 66103. Please contact [email protected] with any questions.
