What a BUSY, PRODUCTIVE, and AMAZING week we have had at Union Hill Day School!!! 💛

From late nights and CPR classes to continuing education training, to saying goodbye to our wonderful summer helpers, our team has truly embraced one of our favorite reminders: Never stop learning!

We also had the incredible opportunity to meet Andrea, our Montessori guru, who left everyone feeling PUMPED and EXCITED about what is ahead as we continue expanding our Montessori knowledge and strengthening our program!

Our much-needed Professional Development Day was a HUGE success—upbeat, productive, and filled with team building, trust building, cleaning, staff meetings, connecting, listening, learning, eating, laughter…and definitely some sweat! 😂

As our teachers arrived, they were greeted by three fun gift baskets filled with goodies and displayed at the front of the school! Throughout the day, teachers earned “Golden Moment” tickets whenever we noticed someone:

✨ Helping another person without being asked

✨ Going the extra mile

✨ Asking thoughtful questions

✨ Being involved and engaged

✨ Supporting their teammates

✨ Being the amazing teachers we already know they are!

At the end of the day, everyone placed their well-earned tickets into the drawing for the basket they most wanted to win. The more Golden Moments they earned, the more chances they had to win their favorite basket! We ended the day by drawing three lucky winners and celebrating all of the hard work our teachers put in throughout the day!

This week was about so much more than training and cleaning. It was about reconnecting, growing, listening, laughing, building trust, and remembering what we can accomplish when we work TOGETHER.

We are a TEAM, and we are excited, energized, and ready to make OUR mark this year at Union Hill Day School!!! 💛🤝👩‍🏫💪🌼🌞🌟🖇✂️✏️✌️🫶

What a fun-filled day! 🚒💦🍧 We had such a great time learning all about the firetruck, getting sprayed by the firefighters, and even making our very own Kona Ice cups! ❤️

Here’s to an amazing last field trip of the summer! What a perfect way to wrap up our summer adventures! ☀️🎉

🎭✨ The laughter is filling the gym this morning at UHDS! ✨🎭

Our students are having the best time watching Little Half Chicken performed by What If Puppets! From the moment the show began, the room has been full of giggles, wide eyes, and smiling faces as our children have been completely captivated by the story.

It's been so much fun watching their imaginations come alive as they listen, wonder, laugh, and follow along with every adventure. Experiences like these help foster creativity, language development, and a lifelong love of storytelling!

What an incredible week of learning and FUN! 🌎✈️

We've had so much fun traveling the world without ever leaving our school! From Mexico to Japan, and even Belgium, we've explored different cultures, learned how to say "hello" in new languages, and tasted delicious foods from around the world. 🌮🍣🧇

Our students have loved discovering what makes each country unique, and we can't wait to see where our adventures take us tomorrow! ❤️🌍

One very special little traveler wanted to treat all of our amazing teachers to lunch today to celebrate his very first week at UHDS! 💙✈️

✈️ OH. MY. GOODNESS!!! What a week it has been at UHDS!! ❤️🌎

I don't know who has had more fun this week...the children or the teachers! I

Our little travelers have been grabbing their boarding passes and passports every morning and taking off on a brand-new adventure to a different country each day! It has been so much fun watching them "travel the world" without ever leaving UHDS!

Every stop has been packed with something new to learn. The children have been:
🛂 Getting their passports stamped at every destination.
👋 Learning how to say "Hello" in different languages.
🌎 Discovering fun facts about countries from all around the world.
🍎 Tasting snacks that children enjoy in the countries they visited.

Can I just brag on our teachers for a minute?! ❤️ They have put SO much time into researching each country, learning about different cultures, practicing new languages, decorating their classrooms, and creating experiences that our children will remember for a long time. Watching their excitement spill over into the children has honestly been my favorite part of this whole week. Learning really is an adventure!

And just when we thought the week couldn't get any more exciting... Animal Wonders came to visit! 🦎🐍🕷️🐢

The children got to meet reptiles, snakes, spiders, bugs, and so many other incredible creatures up close! There were lots of brave faces, a few surprised squeals, and TONS of smiles!

Today's theme was TWIN DAY, and these kiddos were definitely t-WIN-ing!! 💙💙 We loved seeing all of the matching friends, siblings, teachers, and creative outfits walking through the halls today!

So far, we've traveled across the globe, explored new cultures, tasted new foods, learned new words, met incredible animals...and somehow... the jet lag still hasn't hit anyone yet! 😂✈️

Thank you to all of our amazing families for jumping right into Spirit Week with us! Your participation makes these events even more special, and we LOVE seeing the excitement on the children's faces each day.

🌎✈️ Our UHDS World Tour Has Officially Taken Off!

What an incredible way to celebrate the final week of FIFA in Kansas City ⚽️🏆! Our teachers have been working so hard behind the scenes to transform their classrooms into countries from around the world, and today the adventure officially began!

Every child received their very own 📘passport and 🎫 plane ticket before beginning their journey around the world.

🌍 As they travel from classroom to classroom, each class becomes the host country, welcoming their visitors and teaching them a simple "hello" or "goodbye" in that country's language.

The fun doesn't stop there! Our little travelers also get to enjoy a special snack that children in that country might eat as part of their everyday lives. 🍕🧇🌮🥨🌭🥖🍚 It's such a fun way to experience different cultures through language, food, and friendship.

Before leaving each country, every child receives an official passport stamp to show they've traveled there! 🛂✈️ Watching the excitement on their faces has been absolutely priceless!

We are so proud of our amazing teachers for pouring so much creativity, time, and love into making this experience so special for our children. ❤️

Today the kiddos got to make their very own veggie pizzas! From spreading the sauce and cutting up fresh vegetables to tasting their delicious creations, they were involved in every step of the process. Each child also received a personalized apron with their name on it to take home. Cooking with YaYa is always a hit at UHDS, and today's activity was no exception! 🍕👨‍🍳👩‍🍳

Last Wednesday, we had such a fun time at Kanga's! All of the kids had an absolute blast, and we can’t thank the parents enough for all of their help throughout the day—from the bus ride and lunches to joining in on the fun. We love seeing the kiddos smiling, laughing, and making wonderful memories together. Thank you for helping make it such a special day! 😊
