π€ Saturday Spotlight - HONORING THE PAST π€
Rex Purefoy
Modern Legacy β Still Riding
Before there was Giddy-Up Riders of Kansas City, there was a little girl with a dream.
That little girl was me.
Before I became a founder, a mentor, or a community leader, I was introduced to the world of horses by a man who understood the importance of preserving Western heritage and sharing it with others.
That man was Rex Purefoy
Rex didn't just introduce me to horsesβhe opened the gate to a lifelong journey that would eventually become Giddy-Up Riders of Kansas City.
The lessons learned in the saddle became lessons for life:
π€ Respect
π΄ Responsibility
π€ Leadership
π± Stewardship
π Perseverance
Years later, those same values are being passed on to our youth, families, and community through the programs we offer today.
The legacy that began with one mentor and one young rider continues to grow through every child who learns to ride, every family we serve, and every life touched by our organization.
Our recent recognition as the 2026 JuneteenthKC Family Legacy Award Winner is a reminder that legacies are not built alone.
They are passed from one generation to the next.
Today we proudly honor Rex Purefoy for helping inspire a journey that continues to impact our community.
"A mentor plants seeds whose harvest may never be fully seen."

π€π΄ FAITH IN THE SADDLE FRIDAYπ΄π€
Sometimes God doesn't show us the whole trail.
He simply asks us to trust Him with the next step.
There were moments when we couldn't see the destination...
Only the work.
Only the obstacles.
Only the uncertainty.
But faith kept us riding.
Today, we celebrate not only an award, but the journey that brought us here.
π Family Legacy Award Winners
A reminder that when purpose meets perseverance and faith leads the way, great things can happen.
Keep riding.
Keep believing.
Keep trusting.
The trail may be long, but God is faithful.

π€ THANKFUL THURSDAY π€
Today, we're thankful.
Thankful for every rider who showed up.
Thankful for every volunteer who stepped in.
Thankful for every parent, grandparent, supporter, sponsor, and community partner who believed in our vision.
Thankful for the horses that help us teach, inspire, and connect generations.
And thankful that together, we were recognized with the 2026 JuneteenthKC Family Legacy Award. π
This award isn't about one person.
It belongs to every member of the Giddy-Up Riders family.
Together we are:
π€ Honoring the Past
π€ Empowering the Present
π΄ Riding for the Future
Thank you for helping us build something bigger than ourselves.

π€ WISDOM WEDNESDAY π€
Not every trail comes with a map.
Sometimes the greatest lessons are found by riding together, trusting the journey, and learning from those who came before us.

π΄π The Movement Rides On ππ΄
06/09/2026
Some weeks test your faith.
Some weeks break your heart.
Some weeks make you wonder if you have the strength to keep going.
But purpose is stronger than pain.
As we reflect on Juneteenth and the sacrifices made by those who dreamed of a better tomorrow, we are reminded that setbacks do not define usβhow we rise does.
We ride for those who came before us.
We ride for those coming after us.
And we ride with gratitude for the opportunity to make a difference.
The movement continues.
The legacy continues.
And so do we.
