The Kindergarten promotion ceremony held at Banneker was an outstanding event. Students showcased their talents through song and self-presentation, demonstrating a strong foundation for future academic success in first grade. The ceremony was a shining example of excellence. The contributions of Colbert, Massberg, Alli, and Merritt in enabling the kindergarten students to share this experience with their families are acknowledged with gratitude.

Ms. Tejada's third-grade students participated in a unique cultural learning experience, discovering Filipina traditions through culinary exploration and examining the Filipino community's numerous contributions. Her sister kindly volunteered to present to the class at the school. This was a great way to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander heritage month.

Dr. Lynn and Mr. Gjovig presented the most impressive instrumental concert in Banneker's history, featuring over 60 students from grades 4, 5, and 6 in the US strings and band. Parents and our 2nd and 3rd graders attended to appreciate the performance. The 2nd and 3rd graders can’t wait their turn to perform.

The sixth-grade promotion ceremony was truly wonderful. We would like to convey our sincere appreciation to our sixth-grade teachers, Ms. Jolley, Ms. Lewis, and Ms. Artis, for preparing our students for the transition to middle school and beyond. We had a successful year and are grateful for our students, teachers, and families.
