We’re humbled and grateful to be the beneficiary of this book drive held in Dolly’s honor! ❤️📚

In honor of Dolly Parton and her incredible commitment to childhood literacy, 94.1 KFKF is launching Reading 9 to 5: A Dolly Day Book Drive! 📚🦋

Now through September 25th, we’re collecting new or gently used books for kids in preschool through 8th grade to benefit Lead to Read KC.

Want to help? Head to KFKF.com, click the Reading 9 to 5 graphic on our homepage, and you’ll find our studio shipping address plus a link to our Amazon book wishlist. If you buy from the Amazon book wishlist, the books will ship straight to our studios.

Then on 9/25 (Dolly Day) we’ll donate everything we collect to help put more books into the hands of Kansas City kids. 📖✨

Lead to Read KC is fortunate to benefit from personal and corporate book drives year round. They keep our shelves stocked, our Reading Is Everywhere baskets full, and kids reading.

Even among these generous groups, Books-A-Million in Tanger Kansas City at Legends stands out. Their annual book drive always brings in hundreds of books, but this year they outdid themselves, collecting 784 brand new children's books!

General Manager Callie Coulson shared heartwarming stories of children picking out their favorite books to share with another child. Her team's success over the years even helped inspire The KC Book Drive, our recent metro-wide collection through independent bookstores.
