Earlier this week, we celebrated KCPSEF Educator Grant winner Jennifer Abad, and today, we’re shining the spotlight on her home base: Trailwoods Elementary!

Trailwoods is the kind of school where creativity, curiosity, and community all show up ready to learn together. Jennifer’s hands-on grocery store math project? Total Trailwoods energy.

As the first KCPS school recognized as a Leader in Me Lighthouse School, Trailwoods has built a culture focused on student leadership, confidence, and helping every student feel seen and supported. Their motto says it all: Learn, Lead, Succeed.

Trailwoods Elementary continues to show what’s possible when passionate educators and excited students grow together.
