Going through stuff after cleaning out my office and found this picture from the other side of my career. This was taken at the 1st National Catholic College Students Convention 39 years ago in January of 1985. He is one of my spiritual heroes. This was taken just over a year after he first lectured on the consistent ethic of life. Do you recognize either of these people?

Meet our Intern!
Morgan Pettlon is a senior in the Nursing Program at Avila University in Kansas City, MO. She is a leader with Campus Ministry, Dear Neighbors in Action (Avila’s community service organization), a nursing mentor, and a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. Morgan got involved with ACSSJ after going on the 2023 Pilgrimage to Le Puy and she will be the social media intern for the 2023-2024 school year. Welcome Morgan!

Morgan and Cesar continue their journey through Le Puy en Velay where the Sisters of St. Joseph began their ministry over 370 years ago. Pictures include Morgan our friendly Avila Lector being excited to be at the ambo in the 1000-year-old chapel of St. Michel d'Aiguilhe. Also, each had the opportunity to be in the kitchen where the first sisters would meet to pray and discuss the needs of the dear neighbor.

Avila students Morgan Pettlon and Cesar Valderrama are on pilgrimage in France this week. They join 16 other students from the 8 other Associated Colleges of the Sisters of St. Joseph. Today they are in Lepuy en Velay where 6 women originally met in teh middle of the 17th century as contemplatives in action to serve God and the Dear Neighbor without distinction.
